The purpose of the Longview Library Foundation is to receive contributions for the betterment and continuity of the Longview Public Library; to oversee these funds in such a manner as to provide a stable base of financial support for the library's special needs; and to distribute these funds in such a manner that these purposes are served while keeping in mind the wishes of the contributors. The funds of this nonprofit corporation are maintained separately from and independent of the City of Longview.
Goals
- 1. To work with the Library Board of Trustees, the Library Director, and the Friends of the Library for the betterment and continuity of the Longview Public Library.
- 2. To take an active role to fulfill the Mission of the Foundation.
- 3. To establish guidelines for the approval of acceptance of contributions by the Foundation.
- 4. To establish guidelines for the fulfillment of the Foundation's fiduciary responsibilities for the receipt, investment, and distribution of funds.
- 5. To inform others about the Foundation and its mission; and to encourage financial support and involvement.
